Bob Register

“My name is Bob Register and I am a cancer survivor. I was 78 years old when cancer was found in my throat at the base of my tongue. I smoked for 40 years and my message is Don’t Smoke – Don’t Start!

The day that my diagnosis of cancer was confirmed, I called my wife at work and asked her to come home. She did and we cried. I thought my life was over.

After having to have all of my teeth removed, I underwent eight weeks of radiation treatments at Tallahassee Memorial followed by surgery to ensure removal of all the cancerous cells. It has been four years and eight months since the end of my treatment and today I am cancer free. The professionals at the Tallahassee Memorial Cancer Center are outstanding.
I am thankful for their talent and caring attention to my feelings and comfort.

That being said, the best way to fight this type of cancer is Don’t Smoke – Don’t Start!”
